Although we didn't meet any elves, hobbits, wizards or dwarves here 😉 it was truly a homely house to stay on the journey. We stayed in the older building, which was perfectly adequate (and cheaper). The beds were comfy and the rooms surprisingly warm (thanks to the double glass on the windows). Staff were pleasant and helpful, and there are great views to enjoy from the dining room and some bedrooms (ask for a room with a view!). No electric sockets in rooms, but you can charge your devices for a fee in the dining room.

We booked the Rivendell Lodge on our recent trip to EBC. Hot showers, electric warmers are part of the rooms with attached bathrooms. The food here is one of the best I’ve had on the trek, albeit more pricey. The owners of the lodge are very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for some respite (hot showers) on the EBC trek.

Great dining room. Lots of books and games, big chimney. Perfect place to unwind after the long trek from Namche. Interesting that they names the place after the home of the elves in LOTR - the owner confirmed that they are fans :)

This is definitely the “cherry on top” after ia tough days hike on the EBC trek.. It’s located within the woods, very similar to the epic, Lord of the rings & Hobbit, movie and the namesake echoes every aspect of Rivendell.
